A Step Back in Time: Reliving Vietnam’s History through Luxury Train Travel – Journey in Style, Enjoying Stunning Scenery!

A fan of period dramas? You might have vicariously experienced luxury train travel through your favourite characters. If you’re visiting Vietnam, you no longer have to imagine what it’s like.

The Vietage

It’s your golden opportunity to travel back in time, to experience what it’s like to sit amidst ultra-luxury while travelling through scenic landscapes.

It’s a unique way to enjoy the stunning scenery of Central Vietnam. The train runs between Da Nang and Quy Nhon, passing through rice paddies, mountains, and beautiful coastal scenery. As you can imagine, the Vietage is among the most remarkable experiences you can have in Vietnam.

Luxury, comfort, and stunning landscapes sum up the appeal of the Vietage. If you plan to visit Vietnam, be sure to include it in your itinerary for a unique and memorable adventure.

Highlights

The Vietage by Anantara allows you to enjoy the finer things in life. It’s luxury personified and added to that is the unspoiled scenery of Vietnam. If you’re planning to take this train journey in a luxury railway carriage, here are some things to know:

  • The train runs every day from Da Nang to Quy Nhon and from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon.
  • There are two carriages. Each one has six booths with two spacious, comfortable seats.
  • Only 12 passengers are allowed on each journey – it’s not the kind of train journey where you’re jammed up against other passengers.
  • Onboard, you’ll find fine dining, and there’s an unlimited supply of drinks.
  • You can get head and shoulder massages.
  • Passengers enjoy free Wi-Fi.
  • The train is also equipped with sleeper booths.

Destinations

The train arrives at three popular destinations in Vietnam. Each of these destinations is a tourist spot in its own right, with an endless array of things to do once you alight.

  • Da Nang & Hoi An: From Da Nang to Hoi An, it’s a short journey. With streets lined with shophouses, Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It features well-preserved buildings and tea houses, with glowing lanterns adorning the streets as one of the highlights.
  • Quy Nhon: A coastal destination with stunning beaches, Quy Nhon is more laid-back and quiet than other coastal towns. Unspoiled natural surroundings and the slow pace of life are two delightful aspects of Quy Nhon. Ky Co Beach and Bai Xep are among the top beaches of Quy Nhon. You can find several historical attractions too, with the Thap Doi Cham Towers being the most famous.
  • Nha Trang: Another popular coastal destination in Vietnam, the train stops in Nha Trang as well. It’s known for its exciting atmosphere, lively beaches, and clear waters. Both locals and tourists visit to try water sports like snorkelling and diving. Beaches are the top attraction, but the town also has its fair share of cultural significance, with the Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda as the highlights.

How Does It Operate?

The Vietage runs every day. You can reserve your tickets in advance and choose any route you like, depending on what you want to do and where you want to go. For instance, if you want to enjoy coastal scenery, Nha Trang or Quy Nhon should be your destination.

The Vietage has two different carriages, each making daily trips in different directions.

What Is Included in the Ticket Price?

If you choose the trip from Da Nang to Quy Nhon, a six-hour journey, you can enjoy a delicious three-course meal, which should be ordered in advance. In addition, the ticket price includes snacks, unlimited cocktails, mocktails, and wines. You can also drink as much tea or coffee as you like. The cherry on top is the 15-minute head and shoulder massage.

The ticket price for the trip from Quy Nhon to Nha Trang, which is five hours long, includes a luxury afternoon tea with Vietnamese cheeses, local caviar, cold cuts, and premium teas. This trip also includes snacks, unlimited drinks, and a head and shoulder massage.

Onboard Facilities

The Vietage is outfitted with all the luxury amenities you could think of – it really is akin to five-star accommodation. There’s a sit-up bar, restrooms, and a space for head and shoulder massages. The carriages also come with six booths featuring comfortable seats. You’ll be provided with blankets and pillows as well. Charging stations and free Wi-Fi are also included in the list of onboard amenities.

Are Kids Allowed on the Train?

Of course! Kids of all ages can share this luxury travel experience with their parents. If your child is under the age of 4, they can share your seat and meal. Keep in mind, however, only one child is allowed to accompany each paying adult. Children who are older than four are charged a similar price as adults.
